JENNIFER JOAN THOMPSON
I am an actor, writer, and scholar living in New York City.
Currently I am pursuing a Ph.D. at the CUNY Graduate Center where my research focuses on theatre, social justice, and democracy in the hemispheric Americas following the Cold War. I will be beginning my dissertation research this summer in Santiago as a Dissertation Proposal Development Fellow through the SSRC with funding from the Mellon Foundation.
As an actor I have worked on and off Broadway, regionally, and in television. My writing has been workshopped and performed at Manhattan Theatre Club, Studio Tisch, Cap 21, Yale University, and the Segal Center. My most recent play, Turning Texas Blue, was commissioned by Waterwell and a 2015 finalist for the O’Neill National playwrights conference.
